Wall Art: Turn your walls into an architectural masterpiece with moulding

Your walls are the canvases that reflect your soul, and mouldings are the frames that showcase your style.

Your walls are the canvases that reflect your soul, and mouldings are the frames that showcase your style. And the more substantial the moulding, the more impressive the frame.

Adding architectural charisma can be taxing on your design budget, but with a bit of ingenuity, you can achieve a great look with less cost!

Wall Art

Turn your walls into an architectural masterpiece with moulding. Choose a contemporary, country, or traditional look from the wide selection of mouldings available at Home.

What you’ll need

Tools
  • Mitre Saw (Item #: 1347-046)
  • Hammer (Item #: 1031-304)
Materials
  • 3" 4-sided moulding
  • 4" 4-sided moulding
  • Beauti-Tone Trim & Door paint
Here’s How

Baseboard: Shim base with 3" tall blocks cut from moulding, and nail at 16" centres. Nail the 3" moulding at the top of blocks. Nail 4" moulding on face of blocks. Apply the moulding wall pattern as desired. Shown: 24" space between verticals, and rail moulding was placed 5’ high. Paint the entire wall one colour.

The Crowning Touch

Look up! Your ceiling is a diamond in the rough. A common ceiling becomes a palatial space with the simple addition of crown moulding. For a grandeur style, incorporate less expensive mouldings with a routed edge MDF.

From Blah to Awe!

Take basic baseboards that are functional but lack architectural interest and transform them into a gorgeous high-end accent. Simply stack inexpensive mouldings leaving some wall space in between, and paint everything one colour. Neighbours will think you won the lottery!
